This is what the rest of your life will entail. It's called, "The Expert."

This is exactly every conversation I have with my boss. Usually about the third time I explain things it'll start to click...
Its bad.

I'm not even in engineering and I have to deal with this garbage day in and day out. I hate people.

This is amazing.

The other option is to completely ignore everyone and do it your own way, and say that as you were designing and implementing the solution, it was brought to your attention that the requirements had changed, and as such, at the end of the day, in the fullness of time, that this was the best solution that could be made with the resources allocated to the project and the design constraints communicated, and including any signed addenda and change requests. However, we didn't get an approval for the third change request, so we have allowed for it to be added later, assuming we have the approval for the additional $250,000 budget.

Wish I could distribute this to everyone in my address book at work.

On the plus side, when you are in an internet argument, you can say "I am an engineer" and automatically win.

I say that, but then they still tell me that I'm wrong.
Damn business majors.

Like when I watched office space again after I had been working in an office for a while, this is really funny but also sad because it is so true.

I think the useless "Project Manager" yes-man infuriates me the most.

Mech engineering student here, I deal with these characters 90% of the time during group projects.

This is why I'm thankful I no longer have to work with a marketing group.

Oh snap, they nailed it! This is like when I realized Dilbert was footed in reality

I've seen this before, and it still leaves me sobbing with reality.

Been there, just wait until you graduate!

I'm not an engineer, but studied civil engineering for three years (should have gone to architecture school) and definitely have "engineering tendencies". I ended up getting a BFA in graphic design and now work in an office as software and mapping support for a group of geologists (a whole 'nother stereotype there). Several other groups in my office are pretty much all engineers, and I married one as well (petroleum).

I don't know if the fact I studied graphic arts before going into engineering makes me feel better or worse about this
Either way it still hits waaaay too close to home.
